Matt Barnes on breakup
Matt Barnes on breakup_ It's not just rumor this time: Gloria Govan and Matt Barnes have officially called it quits.

Matt and Gloria, who seem to be very much in love on this season of "Basketball Wives: LA," have broken up. This comes a little over a year after the two called off their wedding in August of 2010.

Forgoing the standard of a joint statement, they each confirmed whispers of their split separately yesterday.

“I’d like to address the rumors surrounding mine and Gloria’s relationship," Matt said in an e-mailed statement. "We have reached the difficult decision of ending our relationship and will be going our separate ways at this time."

He added, "We will work together to raise our sons and wish each other only the best.”

Gloria chose to make her statement via Twitter, confirming that she and her long-time fiancé are no longer an item.

"I'm sure you guys are hearing a ton of buzz about Matt and Me breaking up, sorry to say... its true!" Gloria tweeted Monday afternoon, backing up Matt's sentiments that their children will be their focus through the heartbreak. "The most important thing is focusing on my kids and continuing to have a good relationship with their father, thanks for your support!!!

Matt and Gloria have 3-year-old twin boys, Carter Kelly and Isaiah Michael. The couple share a home, but their current living situation is not clear. Both Matt and Gloria have tweeted in the last few days about taking of the twins, who are feeling a bit under the weather.

News of the split may not come as a complete shock as Gloria retweeted a message from @TheNotebook on Satuday, stating, "If someone is dumb enough to walk away, be smart enough to let them go. Your destiny is never tied to anyone who leaves you." That was after Matt got into a Twitter tiff with one user who said that Matt needed to marry Gloria before someone else did. The Los Angeles Times reports that Matt tweeted, "He can have her!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
