There will be no shortage of women offering to comfort newly single George Clooney.

But first in the queue is Hollywood star Sandra Bullock, who has been on hand to support the 50-year-old actor in the wake of his latest love split.

George called time on his two-year relationship with Italian model Elisabetta Canalis after a blazing row.

Sandra, 46, is good pals with George and the pair have been filming the thriller Gravity at London’s Shepperton Studios.
A source said: “They are very close and she will hate to see George hurting.They have also been through the mill relationship-wise. They will be there for each other.”

Sandra is single after separating from her husband of five years, Jessie James. Last month she brought her two-year-old adopted son Louis to the film set with her as George buzzed around taking photos on his phone.

It emerged yesterday that George and Elisabetta had a furious row at his Italian home before splitting.

Alfonso Signorini, a close pal of Elisabetta and editor of the magazine Chi, said: “It was he who dumped her and she stormed out of the villa.

“Last week I was with Elisabetta the whole day filming and she must have had about 60 text messages from George. I said to her, ‘Darling, stop, otherwise we will never finish here.’

“She was so excited about meeting him as he had a few days off from shooting his film in London.”
